We are still in Chicago for the BlogHer conference! Yesterday I told you that I had an odd cab ride from the wrong Yolk restaurant to where Dian actually was. What happened is that after I told the driver where I was going he asked me what I thought of all these people shooting each other and war. That is a very odd question!!
The first thing I said was that I was against it. That seemed like a fairly safe answer. Then he asked me if I thought there would ever be a time that war would stop. Holy cow, I just want to get to my wife! I wasnât expecting a deep philosophical discussion but I figured since he asked I might as well answer. I am a Christian so I gave him the standard Christian answer, that war and violence would continue until the day Christ returns to set His Kingdom up upon the Earth. Turns out this guy was a Jehovahâs Witness and agreed with my answer so I guess I get cabbie bonus points. Iâm just thankful it was a short trip.

After dealing with Dian, I hit the mean streets of downtown Chicago and just started wandering around. I think of Illinois as a landlocked state (not on a coast I mean) so I was a little surprised to see some very nice beaches. If it warms up again before we leave I am definitely going for a swim. I got to swim in the Atlantic and the Pacific so it will be cool to add Great Lakes to my list.

Next up was the Navy Pier and I took a ride on the giant Ferris Wheel. Iâm not sure which is bigger, this one or the one in Fair Park in Dallas.

Then I wandered over to Millennium Park to see the very unique art pieces. Iâm sure this one has a different name but it looks like a bean so thatâs what everyone calls it.

Finally, I took the Red Line to US Cellular Field to see the White Sox lose to the Tigers. I really wish the Cubs had been in town because I think I would have preferred to see Wrigley.
Remember to follow me on Instagram to see all my pics and I leave you with the #1 rule of grinder baseball found on the exit ramp as you are leaving the stadium.
